In this article we will talk about growing mushrooms using the PF Tek system. This is a very simple and easy to use method of growing mushrooms. I have used this method for years with great success.
I have found that the PF Tek system works best if you grow your mushrooms in a dark place such as a basement or under a garage. You can also use a closet if you don’t have a basement. The PF Tek system has been tested in these conditions and has proven to work well. If you do not have a basement, then you can still grow mushrooms using this system, but you will need to find a dark place to grow them.
The PF Tek system consists of a substrate, which is usually a mix of sawdust, peat moss, and compost. This substrate is placed into a tray, which is placed inside the PF Tek chamber. This chamber is a plastic box with a lid. The lid fits snugly on top of the box, so that it does not fall off. A mesh screen is placed on the lid to allow air to flow through the chamber.
You will need to sterilize the PF Tek chamber by placing it in a pressure cooker set at 10 pounds of pressure for 30 minutes. After you have done this, remove the lid from the chamber and let it cool down before opening.
Once the chamber is opened, you will want to fill it with your substrate mixture. Make sure that you mix it well so that there are no clumps. Once you have mixed it, place the lid back on the chamber and place it in a dark area. It should be dark because the light will kill the mushroom spores.
After you have placed the chamber in the dark area, wait about a week for the chamber to colonize. This is when the mycelium (the root system) will start to grow out of the substrate. The mycelium will grow out in all directions, and will cover the entire chamber.
When the mycelium has colonized the chamber, it is time to start the fruiting cycle. When you start the fruiting cycle, you will need to turn on the fan in the chamber and leave it on for a couple of days. During this time, the mycelium will begin to produce the mushrooms.
After the fruiting cycle has begun, you will need to check the chamber every day to make sure that the mushrooms are growing. If they are not, then you will need to add more substrate to the chamber. This is a slow process. It takes about two weeks to get the mushrooms to grow.
If you follow these steps correctly, you should have some good results. Good luck.
